Lt. Dan Schick joined the Solano County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff in June 2005.  As a Deputy Sheriff, he was assigned to Patrol, Court Security, and Investigations.  Dan had additional duties in the Office of Emergency Services as a Search and Rescue Coordinator, Posse Coordinator and a member of the county-wide Hazmat team as a Hazardous Material Specialist. In 2008, he received a Medal of Valor for his actions in the line of duty.

In January 2016, Dan promoted to Sergeant-Sheriff. He served as a supervisor of Patrol, Court Security, Contract Services, Civil, Animal Control and spent four years in Compliance and Professional Standards supervising the Training, Backgrounds and CCW units. Dan graduated from the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI) - Class 430.

In September 2023, Dan promoted to Lieutenant-Sheriff. Dan currently is assigned to the Patrol, Resident Deputy and Animal Control Bureaus.

Dan has a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from the University of California, Davis.  Dan holds numerous professional certificates from the State of California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and the Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigations.
