Solano County Dive Rescue Team

Formed in 1998, the Solano County Dive Team was the first combined Law Enforcement and Fire Department Dive Rescue Team in the State of California.  Historically, it was a combined partnership between the Solano County Office of Emergency Services (OES), Solano County Sheriff’s Office, and the Vacaville Fire Protection District.  The Team has always been comprised entirely of non-paid volunteers from the community with oversight, direction, and financial support from the partnership as well as the community.  Our volunteers typically come with a strong background in military, law enforcement, and professional emergency medical services, as well as significant scuba diving training and experience.

 The Dive team has recently undergone a recent evolution since its 17 year history and is now entirely directed, managed, and financially supported solely by the Solano County Sheriff’s Department OES.  A full-time Deputy with specialty training in Diving and Marine operations coordinates and oversees all aspects of the Team.  Several Team Members also take on additional and important leadership responsibilities and aspects including, Mission Commander, Administrative Officer, Training Director/Officer, Safety Officer, Equipment Officer, and Communications Officer, to name just a few.
