Water Conservation and Fire Safety Tips
California is experiencing a fourth consecutive year of drought, and with the lingering drought comes an increased risk of fire. As the water supplies continue to be impacted by a limited amount of rain and snowfall this winter, coupled with a record low snowpack in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and decreased water levels in most of California's reservoirs, conservation is on everyone's mind. The good news is saving water and keeping your home and property safe against fire is easy – and everyone has a role to play.

Thankfully there are lots of ways to reduce the amount of water we use at home, both inside and outside. Consider visiting the Save Our Water website for an interactive experience on ways your family can reduce water use in Solano County.

Protect your home and property during the fire season by visiting Cal Fire's Ready for Wildfire website.  This interactive website contains fire safety tips and ways to create defensible space around your home - keeping you and your family safe.
