Community Conversation on Rail Safety

On September 20, 2014 Supervisor Seifert convened a Community Conversation on Rail Safety. The objective of the Community Conversation was to raise awareness of the existing safety measures in place throughout the County and to identify potential gaps and mitigations based on the potential changes in rail traffic.  An assembled panel presented on three different areas: Emergency Infrastructure and Preparedness, Potential Impacts on Air, Water and Ground, and Regulatory and Legislative Initiatives.            



Break-Out Discussion
Following the panel presentation attendees were able to participate in break-out groups to voice their concerns in the areas of Emergency Infrastructure and Preparedness, Potential Impacts on Air, Water and Ground, and Regulatory and Legislative Initiatives. They were asked to respond to three different subject areas: “I’d Like to Understand More About…..”, “A Gap Still Seems to Exist In……”, and “I Hope Future Mitigation Will Include….”.
