The Solano County Board of Supervisors and its community partners are excited to present the second annual Solano County Index of Economic and Community Progress. This insightful document shows how the community as a whole has been successful in reshaping the Solano County economy over the last decade. It also brings to light areas where additional collaborative efforts are needed to sustain a thriving economy that ensures a shared economic prosperity.

The 2008 Index was followed up by studies on Solano County’s Life Science Cluster and Energy Cluster, the first in a series of in-depth analyses being conducted to understand the underlying principles of the industry clusters moving the local economy. More analysis of Solano County’s other industry clusters are planned for 2010 and 2011. As we build this knowledge, the Solano community can understand the synergy that makes the clusters successful, and how to sustain a business climate that allows the cluster to continue thriving and growing.

The 2009 Inventory of Industrial and Commercial Zoned Land in Solano County is a comprehensive listing of the undeveloped commercial and industrial zoned properties in the cities and unincorporated area of the County.

Collectively, these documents are the basis for some serious ongoing conversations about the future of Solano County. The challenge for every member of the community is to take the action necessary to build upon our strengths and to address our challenges – to move Solano County toward a positive vision of the future.
