County services impacted by COVID-19; public encouraged to visit website, call and email for service appointments and follow on social media platforms

SOLANO COUNTY – The following is a list of Solano County public services impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic health emergency, including alternative ways of conducting business: 

Auditor-Controller
The Auditor-Controller’s Office remains open for regular business hours, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, and encourages customers to make appointments with the applicable division in advance of their visit by calling (707) 784-6280.  

Child Support Services
The Department of Child Support Services is encouraging clients to conduct virtual interviews with staff instead of coming into the office.  Virtual interviews can be set up directly with your case worker by calling (866) 901-3212, by text message at (707) 241-4201 and by email at [email protected].  Consider following Solano County Child Support Services on social media, including Facebook.com/SolanoChildSupport, on Instagram @SolanoChildSupport and Twitter @SolanoChildSup.  

Library Services
Library Services, for the health and safety of all library patrons and staff, has suspended all indoor programs, classes and trainings at all branch locations, effective immediately, through February 1, 2022, at which time the suspension will be re-evaluated.  Outdoor programming will still take place, weather permitting.  Additionally, the Solano County Law Library, located at the Hall of Justice, 600 Union Ave. in Fairfield, in consultation with the Superior Court, will limit capacity, effective immediately, requiring users to either make an appointment by calling (707) 421-6520 or ring an outside doorbell to gain access.  The Law Library hours remain the same, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  The public is encouraged to visit the Library’s website, https://SolanoLibrary.com, by calling 1 (866) 572-7587, and by attending virtual events on Facebook at Facebook.com/SolanoLibrary and on Instagram @SolanoLibrary.  

Public Defender
The Public Defender’s Office remains open during the Superior Court’s reduced hours of operations.  It is important to note that many cases are being continued 30 to 60 days due to a surge in COVID infections.  Clients are encouraged to contact the Public Defender’s Office to confirm their court hearing is still on the calendar by calling (707) 784-6700 and by email at [email protected].  Clients can also call the Alternate Public Defender at (707) 784-6755 and by email at [email protected].  Follow the Public Defender on Facebook, Facebook.com/SolanoPubDef

Registrar of Voters
The Registrar of Voters (ROV) has reduced lobby hours, effective immediately, through February 11, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday – Friday.  ROV staff is available during regular business hours, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday for online appointments and phone calls, with all in-person meeting requests to be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  All ROV services are available online at https://www.SolanoCounty.com/Elections, by email at [email protected] and (707) 784-6675.  

Sheriff
Effective January 12, 2022, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office is closing all lobbies and limiting public access until February 15, 2022 to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.  The public is encouraged to visit the Sheriff’s Office website at https://www.SolanoCounty.com/Sheriff and call (707) 784-7000 for more information, including a directory of services provided by the Sheriff.  Consider following the Sheriff’s Office on Facebook at Facebook.com/SolanoSheriff, on Instagram @SolanoSheriffsOffice and Twitter @SolanoSheriff.     

Treasurer-Tax Collector-County Clerk
The Treasurer-Tax Collector-County Clerk’s Office (TTCCC) has reduced their phone hours to four per day from 9 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 3 p.m., Monday – Friday.  Customers are encouraged to call the TTCCC at (707) 784-6295 for the Treasurer and (707) 784-7485 for the Tax Collector and County Clerk, and to visit the department’s website for more information at https://www.SolanoCounty.com/Depts/TTCC and by email at [email protected].
