Remaining Solano County Redistricting community outreach meetings to be hosted in-person

July 22, 2021

SOLANO COUNTY – The public is invited to attend the remaining Solano County Redistricting Community Outreach meetings in-person on Saturdays, starting July 31, and running through August 28, 2021.

The Redistricting Community Outreach meetings are conducted and organized by Supervisorial District; however, anyone can attend any meeting that is convenient for them to ask questions and provide input on their Communities of Interest (COI). PUBLIC MAPPING TOOL
Solano County is providing residents with a free, non-subscription-based mapping tool called DistrictR, available now on the Solano Redistricting website.  The DistrictR public mapping tools allows residents to build a map identifying the boundaries of their community and sharing what makes it a community of interest.  Every map submitted will be carefully reviewed and considered when drafting proposed Supervisorial District Maps.  The DistrictR public mapping tool can be accessed on the Solano County Redistricting website, at https://Redistricting.SolanoCounty.com and by clicking on “Maps” tab.

ABOUT THE REDISTRICTING PROCESS
Redistricting occurs every ten years after the U.S. Census is completed.  District boundaries for federal, state and local elected offices are redrawn to reflect new population growths and equalize district populations.  By law, counties must adopt their new boundaries by or before December 15, 2021.
