Solano County Supervisors were officially presented with eight winning ribbons and a Golden Bear statue signifying the Best of Show among all county displays at the 2006 California State Fair. Sheriff Seeks Third Suspect In Shooting of Juvenile  8/29/2006
Solano County Sheriff’s Investigation Bureau has identified a third suspect in the Highway 80 shooting of a 16 year-old that occurred on August 22, 2006.

The suspect is identified as Hau Nguyen, 20 yrs old, from Suisun City. Nguyen is described as a Vietnamese male, 5’ 4”, 120 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. He is known to be a member of the gang “Sons of Death” and has “SOD” tattooed on his left shoulder along with dice and “Hieu”. Other tattoos include a map of Vietnam on his back, “VP, “BK”, and “LIL Blue” on his right shoulder.

Juvenile Shot-Suspects Sought  8/23/2006
On Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at approximately 1:00 a.m to 1:30 a.m this morning, a 16 year old male passenger in a vehicle was struck by gunfire and seriously wounded by occupants of a second vehicle. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on Highway 80 approximately one mile west of Red Top Road when the shooting occurred. The victim is said to be in critical condition. more...

Sheriff's Office Receives Grant Money To Combat Underage Drinking 8/8/2006
The Solano County Sheriff’s Office will be increasing its efforts to prohibit the sale of alcohol to minors. The sheriff’s office has recently been awarded a $48,000 grant from the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to help curtail underage drinking and drunken driving accidents.

SUPERVISORS APPROVE 2006/07 COUNTY SPENDING PACKAGE 6/26/2006
Solano County’s Board of Supervisors, this evening, approved the 2006/07 County Budget of $870,279,616, a 9% ($69,454,426) increase over last year’s budget. The spending package also includes a $32.8 million General Fund Reserve. The Budget allows for moderate growth in County programs while exercising prudence and sound fiscal judgment.
