June 24, 2016

SOLANO COUNTY – For the fourteenth consecutive year in a row, the Solano County Auditor-Controller's Office has received the Certificate for Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) ending June 30, 2015.

The Solano County Board of Supervisors will receive a presentation from the Auditor-Controller’s Office regarding the achievement on Tuesday, June 28 during their regularly scheduled meeting, starting at 9 a.m. in the County Administration Center, 675 Texas Street in Fairfield.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

"We are honored to receive this award for excellence in financial reporting again this year," says Simona Padilla-Scholtens, Solano County Auditor-Controller.  “This achievement demonstrates the County’s commitment to providing Solano County residents with the highest standard in financial reporting.”

The Solano County CAFR – comprising a narrative, financial statements, and a statistical section of the County – complies with the accounting requirements regulated by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the highest standards.

The GFOA is a not-for-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals across the United States and Canada.
