Lynch Canyon opens on Fridays starting December 12

December 2, 2014

SOLANO COUNTY -- Lynch Canyon Open Space Park will be open on Fridays starting Dec. 12, 2014 in addition to its current Saturday, Sunday and Monday park schedule.

"Opening on Fridays helps the County meet its goal of expanding our park services," says Dan Sykes, Solano County Parks Services Manager.  “We've had a growing demand for access to Lynch for people to enjoy the trails, and we’re pleased to be able to offer another day of the week.”

Lynch Canyon Open Space Park will be open to the public year-round Fridays through Mondays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lynch Canyon has 10 miles of trails for horseback riding, hiking, trail running and mountain biking, with skill levels varying from easy to challenging climbs.  A variety of public events are offered during the year, including a Trail Run, Community Hike and Kite Festival in springtime, and free guided hikes year-round to enjoy the native wildlife.

Lynch Canyon Open Space Park is jointly operated by Solano Land Trust and Solano County Parks with financial support from Solano County.  A calendar of events is available at www.solanocounty.com/parks or www.solanolandtrust.org.

Dogs are not permitted at the park due to grazing cattle and the protection of wildlife. A $5 per day parking fee is required.  Guests can also purchase an annual parking pass for added convenience.  For more information please call (707) 784-6765.

Lynch Canyon is located at 3100 Lynch Road near McGary Road between Vallejo and Fairfield. From Interstate 80, take the exit for American Canyon Rd. / Hiddenbrooke or Red Top Road and follow the signs.
