October 29, 2014

SOLANO COUNTY – Solano County Health and Social Services (H&SS) officials, in response to the pending closure of the Youth and Family Services (YFS) is working in cooperation with the YFS board of directors and senior staff, City of Vallejo and community based organizations to ensure clients continue to receive services with no break in the delivery of care.

"We are saddened to hear about the loss of the Youth & Family Services," said Patrick Duterte, Solano County Health and Social Services Interim Director.  “They have been an important partner in providing services to at risk adults, children and their families in Solano County for over 32 years.”

Solano County Health and Social Services has $1.2 million in contracts with YFS at this time, serving more than 300 clients in the Mental Health, Substance Abuse and highly regarded Women's Reentry Achievement Program (WRAP) programs.

To ensure clients receive continuity of care, H&SS and YFS are connecting individuals and families affected by the closure with community based organizations.

“This is an all-hands-on-deck response,” Duterte says.  “Helping clients make a seamless transition to alternative sources of care is our top priority.”

“This is a sad time for our agency,” says Robin Gross, YFS Board President. “I am encouraged that the County and our community based partners have stepped up to preserve these services for our at-risk adults, families and children in this county.”
