HOW SOLANO COUNTY CONSERVES WATER
Solano County's Facility Operations minimizes water use by using drip irrigation systems, efficient sprinkler heads and automated water systems to reduce watering durations, helping the County conserve approximately 400,000 gallons of water annually.  In addition, the installation of efficient toilets, faucets with run-time control and low-flow aerators for sinks are included in the new construction and facility renewal projects.rt conserving water today!

CONSERVING WATER AT HOME

Inside Your Home
-- Take shorter showers
-- Turn off the faucet when you brush your teeth and shave
-- Check for leaks in toilets and appliances and fix them right away
-- Only run full loads of dishes and full loads of laundry

Outside Your Home
-- Leave grass clippings on the lawn to prevent evaporation
-- Set mower to highest setting, encouraging deeper roots
-- Sweep the driveway and sidewalk, don’t use a hose
-- Cover your pool to prevent evaporation and heat gain
-- Water with the weather and program your irrigation timer
-- Consider water wise landscaping to replace a thirsty lawn
-- Use a carwash - it uses recycled water
