Elections office open for business on Saturday

October 30, 2012

The Elections Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 for registered Solano County voters to drop off their vote-by-mail ballots or to cast their vote in the Nov. 6th election.

Elections staff will also be providing curbside service on the Union Avenue side of the County Administration Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week through Saturday.  Voters can drop off their vote-by-mail ballots without leaving their car.

"The goal is to make getting that ballot back to us as easy as possible," said Deputy Registrar of Voters John Gardner.

The Elections Office is located on the second floor of the County Administration Center at 675 Texas St. in Fairfield.

While California does not have designated “early voting” as some other states, people who would normally cast their ballot at their neighborhood polling location on Election Day can vote early at the Elections Office if they are unable to make it to the polls on Tuesday.  This voting option is available from Wednesday, Oct. 31 through Monday, Nov. 5 – including on Saturday, Nov. 3.

All other election services will be available during the Saturday service, including picking up voter information guides (English, Spanish and Tagalog), sample ballots (English) and easy voter guides (English and Spanish).

The Registrar of Voters has also made many of the resources voters need for the election conveniently available on its website at
www.solanocounty.com/elections.  Voters can verify their voter registration, locate their polling place, download additional sample ballots or link to voter information guides.
