Actors needed for countywide emergency exercise

August 29, 2012

Solano County Public Health is looking for people to play the role of earthquake victims during a countywide training exercise.

This exercise on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 is part of the statewide drill to test local hospitals' ability to treat a large influx of injured people in the event of a real disaster.

Participants will experience first-hand how an actual emergency would unfold and how Solano County’s first responders and emergency personnel train for such an event.

Some actors will be made up to look like victims injured during the quake. All actors will be given a specific injury role to play.

Volunteers will be asked to report to the assembly area at the Solano Mall prior to being transported to one of five emergency hospital locations in the county.

The hours of the exercise will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The application form to volunteer is available online at
www.solanocounty.com/depts/ems. Forms should be completed and returned by Nov. 1, 2012.
