2012 County exhibit wins State Fair’s Best of Show Award July 13, 2012 The Solano County exhibit at the California State Fair took visitors to the farmers market and brought home its 7th Best of Show Award and its 12th consecutive Gold Award.
Judges announced yesterday that the Solano County 2012 exhibit that showcases the county’s agriculture won three awards, the Best of Show Award, a Gold Award, and the Craftsmanship Award.
The main feature of the exhibit is a classic walk-through barn transformed into country farm stand filled with fruits and vegetables grown in Solano County. As is the tradition for Solano County, the exhibit integrates a learning environment with whimsical characters, abundant memorabilia, twinkling lights, and animated displays.
The win Thursday brings the County’s award tally for its exhibits up to 64 major awards over the past 13 years. Still up for grabs is another Solano County winning tradition – the People’s Choice Award. This top distinction is given directly by fairgoers.
