Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council meets on May 3April 30, 2012 The Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council meets at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, in Room 6004 of the County Administration Center, 675 Texas St. in Fairfield.
Items to be discussed include an update of the Juvenile Justice Action Plan, review of various funding grants, and an update on youth intervention strategies.
The mission of the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council, which meets twice a year, is to develop a comprehensive, multiagency plan that identifies the resources and strategies for providing an effective continuum of responses for the prevention, intervention, supervision, treatment, and incarceration of male and female juvenile offenders, including strategies to develop and implement locally based or regionally based out-of-home placement options for youths.
Membership on the coordinating council is prescribed by law and includes, at a minimum, the Chief Probation Officer, as chair, and representatives from the District Attorney's office, Public Defender’s office, Sheriff’s office, Board of Supervisors, Health and Social Services (social services and mental health), a community-based drug and alcohol program, a city police department, the county office of education or a school district, and an at-large community representative. |
