Grant funding available to support most pressing needs in Solano County

SOLANO COUNTY – The County Administrator's Office, as part of the County’s Human Service Needs Assessment study and resultant Community Investment Fund, has released a request for proposals for annual grants of up to $50,000 per grant to address the six most pressing needs in Solano County.

In 2018, the Board embarked on a year-long assessment process, which included looking at community data, talking to community leaders, and conducting a community survey with residents. Based on this information, the Board identified the top six human services needs in the County, including mental health, housing, homelessness, early education, youth development and safe and stable environments for children. The Board created at Community Investment Fund to address these top needs and make tangible progress toward measurable outcomes.

All projects proposed for the Annual Grants Fund must address one or more of the six most pressing needs in the county.  A total of $250,000 is available for July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. The limit per annual grant is $50,000.  Proposals will be accepted from non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations and government entities.

A mandatory proposers’ workshop will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 starting at 3 p.m. at the County Events Center, located at 601 Texas St., in Fairfield, conference room A. Proposals are due March 6, 2020 by 5 p.m.
