Community Corrections Partnership meets April 24

SOLANO COUNTY – The Solano County Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 24 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Solano County Events Center, located at 601 Texas St. in Fairfield, Conference Room A.

The agenda includes a presentation on the Promise program and updates on the Results First Initiative, demographics on the Probation and Jail populations, woman and children in recovery, AB 109 contracts for data collection and vocational services and the County's budget, including 2011 Public Safety Realignment and AB 109 funding.  CCP members will consider a recommendation by the Probation and District Attorney’s Office to approve staff for the Victim’s Advocate position.

The mission of the CCP is to discuss issues related to the implementation of various pieces of state legislation that focus on adult criminal offenders, including the realignment of many state public safety functions to local jurisdictions. The overall objective is to reduce the recidivism rate of adult offenders in the local criminal justice system.

The membership of the CCP is outlined in California Penal Code Section 1230 and defined by the Community Corrections Performance Incentive Act of 2009 (SB 678) and includes the Chief Probation Officer (Chair), Presiding Judge of the Superior Court or his or her designee, a County Supervisor or County Administrator, District Attorney, Public Defender, Sheriff, the head of the Department of Social Services, the head of the County Department of Mental Health, the head of the County Department of Employment, the head of the County Alcohol and Substance Abuse programs, the County Superintendent of Education, a local chief of police, a representative of a community-based organization with experience in successfully providing rehabilitative services to persons convicted of criminal offenses, and an individual who represents the interests of victims.

AB 109 establishes the Chief Probation Officer as the chair of the Community Corrections Partnership.  Information presented is fully discussed by the committee members and voted on by the Executive Committee in accordance with the legislation parameters.
