Assessor-Recorder offers secure e-file option for Solano businesses

February 17, 2017

SOLANO COUNTY – The Solano County Assessor-Recorder's Office is pleased to announce that businesses now have the option to file their property statements electronically, adding to the convenience and security of submitting tax documents over the internet.

"There are so many benefits to submitting documents through our new e-File system," says Marc Tonnesen, Solano County’s Assessor-Recorder.  “In addition to being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the system is easy to use, interactive, secure and provides instant access to electronic tax documents, statements and records.”

Businesses can file a number of different forms, including business property statements, agricultural property statements, apartment property statements and banks, insurance and financial corporation filings.

2017 property statements are due April 1 with the last day to submit in paper or by e-file on May 8.  Statements postmarked after this date will be levied a 10 percent penalty.

E-Filing is voluntary and just another option the Assessor-Recorder’s Office is pleased to offer should businesses wish to complete and file their property statements electronically.  Businesses that wish to continue to file using paper statements may continue to do so as they have in the past.  Businesses must choose to file electronically or by paper, not both.
