Grants available for Children’s Month Events

SOLANO COUNTY – April is "Children's Month," and to celebrate, First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission will be distributing grant money to support community events that celebrate early childhood and / or promote awareness about young children’s issues.

Grants of up to $300 will be awarded for community events that help raise awareness about and promote the well-being of young children.  Events may include, but are not limited to childhood health and wellbeing, education, safety and / or school readiness of children ages zero to five.

Events may also recognize established “April is Children’s Month” observances, including Week of the Young Child, Children’s Memorial Flag Day, National Child Abuse Prevention Month, CASA Light of Hope Day, Month of the Military Child, National Spank-Out Day, Victims of Crime Week and El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros Day.

Events that are selected to receive grant funding will be featured in the First 5 Solano Newsletter that will be distributed throughout Solano County.
