$4,425,999 to provide a partnership system of care in Solano that supports and educates pregnant and parenting women to deliver healthy and substance free babies. The goal is that all babies will be born healthy and live in a nurturing environment where they will thrive.

Health Access/Children’s Health Initiative

Solano Coalition for Better Health

Up to $834,543 to ensure that low- to mid-income children access health coverage.

Partnership for Early Access for Kids (PEAK)

Children’s Nurturing Project

Up to $1,417591 to provide coordination of 6 early childhood strategies; and counduct pre-screenings, assessments as needed, outreach and education; and coordination of the Early Childhood Developmental Health Initiative.

Child Start, Inc.

Up to $111,454 for social emotional screening of children in early Head Start and Head Start programs, and parent and caregiver education. 

EMQ Families First, Inc.

Up to $1,315,502 to provide coordination of 5 early childhood strategies; and conduct assessments as needed, outreach and education. Also provide parent, caregiver, and provider training, parent coaching through incredible Years and PCIT, short term limited treatment services, and overall Outcomes and Evaluation function for the County-wide PEAK Initiative.  Also coordinates subcontractor services with Dixon Family services for caregiver education..

Solano Family And Children's Services

Up to $168,206 to provide outreach and training to parent and child care provider education around developmental milestones, red flags and concerns, and developmental screening.

Youth and Family Services

Up to $125,871 to provide County-wide group and one-on-one Parent Coaching classes using the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) evidence based curriculum for parents with 0-5 children.

Health and Social Services-Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatement (EPSDT)

Up to $1,213,180 for the period of July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2012 to provide mental health services to Medi-Cal eligible children 0-5.  This is a 5% match to a 95% federal and state-funded program.

Children’s Network of Solano County

Up to $132,909 to actively assist the child care and community development sectors in their work together to support and streamline the process of financing, constructing and managing child care facilities.

Child Start, Inc.

Up to $407,999 to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to children and families who are enrolled in Head Start.

Children’s Network of Solano County

Up to $77,273 to improve the lives of children and families by encouraging partnerships, promoting the use of data, developing resources and tools, and emphasizing the importance of outcomes and results.

Up to $576,726 to increase the professional development and education levels of participating members of the child care workforce.

School Readiness Initiative

Vallejo City Unified School District

Up to $941,000 to provide services to help parents prepare their young children to enter school healthy, learning and ready to reach their greatest potential in the Loma Vista Elementary School catchment area.

Vacaville Unified School District

Up to $908,000 to provide services to help parents prepare their young children to enter school healthy, learning and ready to reach their greatest potential in the Markham Elementary School catchment area.

Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District

Up to $973,000 to provide services to help parents prepare their young children to enter school healthy, learning and ready to reach their greatest potential in the Anna Kyle Elementary School catchment areas.

Dixon Unified School District

Up to $868,000 to provide services to help parents prepare their young children to enter school healthy, learning and ready to reach their greatest potential in the Silveyville Primary School catchment area.

First 5 Solano

Up to $58,075 for college level interns assigned to school readiness locations in the Loma Vista Elementary, Anna Kyle Elementary, Markham Elementary, and Anderson Elementary school catchment areas.

Solano County Office of Education Up to $262,000 to provide preschool services/slots so that participating children can enter kindergarten physically, emotionally, cognitively and creatively prepared to ultimately succeed in school and life.

Family Support Initiative

Children’s Network of Solano County

Up to $425,011 to coordinate the IFSI multi-disciplinary case conferencing team to develop a holistic family treatment plan, convene IFSI partners, share best practices, strengthen existing family support services, and connect service providers to research-based parenting programs.

Solano County Health & Social Services

Up to $463,635 to provide Child Protective Services Worker and Public Health Nurse services as part of the Integrated Family Support Initiative’s multi-disciplinary home-visiting team, for intensive services to high-risk families.

City of Benicia Police Department

Up to $122,588 to provide information and referral, case management, and home visiting services to at-risk families with children ages 0-5 living in the city of Benicia.

Dixon Family Services

Up to $186,947 to provide information and referral, case management, and home visiting services to at-risk families with children ages 0-5 living in the city of Dixon.

Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District

Up to $431,195 to provide information and referral, case management, and home visiting services to at-risk families with children ages 0-5 living in the cities of Fairfield and Suisun.

Fighting Back Partnership

Up to $481,289 to provide information and referral, case management, and home visiting services to at-risk families with children ages 0-5 living in the city of Vallejo.

Rio Vista CARE

Up to $192,617 to provide information and referral, case management, and home visiting services to at-risk families with children ages 0-5 living in the city of Rio Vista.

City of Vacaville Police Department

Up to $115,632 to provide information and referral, case management, and home visiting services to at-risk families with children ages 0-5 living in the city of Vacaville.

California Hispanic Commission on Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Up to $248,510 to provide substance abuse specialist services as part of the Integrated Family Support Initiative’s multi-disciplinary home-visiting team, for intensive services to high-risk families.

Children’s Nurturing Project

Up to $71,089 to provide parenting classes to isolated families and convene a weekly support group for parents of children with special needs.

Interfaith Council of Solano County

Up to $62,300 to provide temporary housing/shelter to homeless families with children ages 0-5 living in the Heather House Homeless Shelter.

Youth and Family Services

Up to $217,601 to provide substance abuse specialist services as part of the Integrated Family Support Initiative’s multi-disciplinary home-visiting team, for intensive services to high-risk families.

Internally Run Programs

Kits for New Parents/
First 5 Solano

Up to $25,000 annually to provide Kits for New Parents with parenting information, advice and useful tips first-time parents need to best prepare for the joys and challenges that lie ahead (partnership with First 5 California).

Community Engagement/
First 5 Solano

Up to $60,000 annually to oversee the implementation of the First 5 Solano Communications Plan to support the work of the Commission, particularly in the areas of community engagement, increased commissioner community involvement and community activities related to strategic planning.

Co-Sponsorship of Conferences and Grantwriting/ First 5 Solano

Up to $50,000 annually for education and co-sponsorship of conferences and training events is to contribute to improving the capacity of individuals and organizations in Solano County to serve expectant parents, children ages 0-5 and their families; and to strategically leverage First 5 Solano funds to bring additional funding to Solano County for services or providers supports for services to expectant parents, children ages 0-5 and their families.

Up to $50,000 annually for coordination and facilitation of Solano Preschool for All Plan implementation activities.

Up to $280,000 to augment funding for the building of an addition and the purchase of equipment for the expansion of mental health services for children 0-5, particularly the enhancement of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) facilities
