|Monica Brown - Supervisor District 2|
As the Supervisor for District 2, Monica Brown brings her background as a classroom teacher of 39 years and a former Trustee at Solano Community College to her position as a Supervisor. Ensuring that we have a highly trained workforce and a thriving Community College with a strong Career and Technical training component were top priorities for Monica as a teacher and a Trustee.
Monica taught for 30 years at Green Valley Middle School, as well as numerous summers at Armijo High School and for two summers at Benicia Middle School. Monica was also a soccer coach for 10 years with the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. Monica taught two generations of students and saw her students go on to be doctors, lawyers and teachers. In an ironic twist, Monica’s principal her last year of teaching was a former student. Nothing gives Monica as much joy as seeing her former students throughout District 2 who have gone on to have successful lives.
Seeing the devastating impacts of poverty on families in her community, Monica is dedicated to providing resources to those who need them most. Monica is dedicated to using her position as a County Supervisor to help solve homelessness and provide more services for mental health in Solano County.
Monica and her staff are available to meet with constituents and offer any assistance needed.
Monica is the mother of 2 children. Both of her children graduated from Rodriguez High School and Solano Community College.
